"Be the change you wish to see in the world". Mohandas Gandhi
Gandhi stood for peaceful resolution and fairness for all. We ask our students to understand Gandhi’s quote by giving them information.
Specifically information about our monthly theme, Animals past and present. We have discussed the dinosaurs and how they may have become extinct. We have discussed endangered animals and how they may have become endangered and that they may even be on the extinct list if we don’t act. We cannot act if we are not informed.
These are serious topics in the world and I believe that our children deserve to know. The animals that are being poached and the rainforests that are getting demolished and all the creatures that call it home are disappearing even before we can discover them! They deserve protection! I hope that we can be the change we wish to see in the world. I hope that our children will not see an elephant, tiger rhino or a polar bear in a text book but alive and well!
We need to be the voice for these animals and protect the planet. Knowledge is key. We are the change, ALL OF US!
Please be aware of the products you buy and how they are made. Reclaimed wood for building, not from a rainforest. Ivory, horns and other animal parts that may be sold as souvenirs etc. Sustainable farming and humane practices. Don’t get me started on the food industry.
What I’m saying is I am passionate about protecting the planet and all living creatures that call her home. Please keep Mohandas Gandhi’s words close to your heart as I do.
Animal lover,
